Adam: Let’s begin by reviewing the first few lines of the dialogue.亚当：让我们首先回顾了头几行的对话。

Kirin:麒麟： Zěnme zěnme bàn？ bàn ？
Adam: So here’s the first line of today’s lesson.亚当：所以这里的第一线，今天的教训。 Zěnme zěnme bàn？ bàn ？ Zěnme zěnme shì shì shénme shénme yìsi? yìsi ？ It’sa question word meaning “how.” We’ve seen a homonym of the next word before bàn in the context of time.这是问题的字，意思是"如何" ，我们看到了同音的一个字，才bàn语境中的时间。 For example,举例来说， liù liù diǎn diǎn bàn bàn shì shì shénme shénme yìsi? yìsi ？ Shì shì “half "半 past 过去 six” 六个" de 德 yìsi yìsi . 。 So there,因此， bàn bàn means “half.” This one here is a homonym so it has the same pronunciation, a falling tone but has a different meaning.意思是"一半" ，这一个这里是一个谐音，所以也有同样的发音，语调下降，却是有不同的意义。 Here这里 bàn bàn means “to manage” or “to handle.” So意思是"管理"或"处理" ，所以 Zěnme zěnme bàn？ bàn ？ How do we manage or handle this situation?我们应该如何管理或处理这种情况呢？

Adam: So here we have a rising tone亚当：所以我们在这里有一个上升的声调 méi méi , which we’ve seen before. ，我们已经看到面前。 Méi méi shì shì shénme shénme yìsi? yìsi ？ It’s the negation word, similar to它的否定词，类似于 bù bù . 。 So “No所以"无 bànfǎ bànfǎ ”. " 。 That’s the falling tone这下降的语调 bàn bàn that we just saw, followed by a falling rising-tone我们刚刚所看到的，之后呈下降崛起音 fǎ fǎ and together means “method of doing something” or, in this context, “solution.”连同手段"的方式，做了一些" ，或者是在这一背景下， "解决办法" 。

Adam: The next word there is the verb亚当：下一个词是动词 mǎi mǎi . 。 Mǎi mǎi shì shì shénme shénme yìsi? yìsi ？ It’s the verb “to buy.” So “today, we can’t buy它的动词"买" ，所以"今天，我们也不能买 hěnduō hěnduō dōngxi dōngxi .” These are all words we’ve seen recently. "这些都是换句话说，我们已经看到最近的。 Hěnduō hěnduō shì shì shénme shénme yìsīi? yìsīi ？ Shì shì “many” "许多" de 德 yìsi yìsi . 。 Dōngxi dōngxi shì shì shénme shénme yìsi? yìsi ？ {translate_2:Shì “things” de yìsi.:It means ” things “}. （ translate_2 ： shì "事物"德yìsi ：它是指"事物" ，没啥了不起。 So putting these all together gives us “We today can’t buy many things.”所以把这些都一起给了我们： "我们今天也不能买很多东西" 。

Adam: And the last line of the dialogue was:亚当：和最后一行的对话是：

Adam: We know亚当：我们知道 zhēn zhēn from从 zhēnde zhēnde . 。 Zhēn zhēn shì shì shénme shénme yìsi? yìsi ？ Shì shì “real” "真正的" de 德 yìsi yìsi . 。 That’s followed by这之后 zāo zāo gāo gāo which is two high tones.这是两个高声调。 The literal translation here is “spoiled” or “rotten cakes,” but this is commonly used to express “That’s too bad,” or “That’s terrible!”字面翻译这里是"惯坏了"或"烂饼" ，但是，这是常用的表示， "这真是太糟糕"或"这是很可怕！ "
