Kirin:麒麟: ,

Adam: The second one was the rising tone.亞當:第二次是上升的語調。

Kirin:麒麟: ,

Adam: We then had the falling rising tone.亞當:我們當時有下降上升語調。

Kirin:麒麟: ,

Adam: And lastly we had the falling tone.亞當:最後我們有下降的語調。

Kirin:麒麟: ,

Adam: Great, now that we’ve mastered our tones, let’s move on to some useful vocabulary.亞當:偉大的,現在,我們已掌握了我們的鈴聲,讓我們討論了一些有用的詞彙。

Now I’m sure the first thing that anybody wants to know when learning a new language is how to say ‘hello.’ So how do you say ‘hello’ in Chinese, Kirin?現在我敢肯定的第一件事,任何人想要知道什麼時候學習一門新的語言是如何說'你好' ,所以你怎麼說'你好' ,在中國,麒麟?

Kirin:麒麟: hǎo hǎo .

Adam: Great, now just a note on how we do things around here.亞當:偉大的,現在剛好是一份關於如何去做的事情靠近這裡。 You’ll notice a lot of pauses during my conversation with Kirin – especially after she pronounces new words or when I ask her questions.你會發現很多停頓了一下,在我的談話,與日本麒麟公司-尤其是當她判決新詞或當我問她的問題。 This is done on purpose to get you, our listener, involved.這樣做的目的,就得到你,我們的聽眾參與。 I highly encourage you to try and pick out the tones she is using and try to repeat them after her.我非常鼓勵你嘗試和挑選出聲調,她是用盡量重複她。 As well, when I ask Kirin a question there will usually be a pause in there so you the listener can try and come up with the answer first before she does.而且,當我問麒麟一項問題,通常會稍作停頓,在有那麼你的聽眾可以嘗試,並制訂答案先她。 As we said in our previous lesson, if you can sound out the words out aloud, please do so and if not, then please try and do so in your head.正如我們在以前的教訓,如果你能在試探中講出了自言自語,請這樣做,如果沒有的話,那麼請你嘗試這樣做,在你的頭上。 So again to say ‘hello’ in Chinese, there are two words here and two tones – listen and try to distinguish what tones they are.所以再次說'你好' ,在中國人,有兩個詞在這裡和兩個色調-傾聽,並試圖區分什麼聲調他們的影響。 So again, Kirin – ‘hello.’再次,麒麟-'你好'

Kirin:麒麟: hǎo hǎo .

Adam: Ok, so the first word was a falling rising tone and the second word was also a falling rising tone.亞當:好吧,我們就這樣第一個字是屬於上升的語調和第二個字也呈下降上升語調。

Kirin:麒麟: hǎo hǎo .

Adam: Let’s look at the literal meaning.亞當:讓我們看看在字面上的意思。 The means ‘you.’ And the指'你'和 hǎo hǎo means ‘good.’ So when you say手段'好' ,所以當你說 hǎo hǎo in Chinese, you’re actually wishing someone “you good.” Isn’t that interesting?在中國,你實際上是希望有人"你們好" ,是不是有意思嗎? So there are two important words we’ve learned today - the word for ‘you’ -所以有兩個重要的話,我們學會了今天-這個詞對'你' - and the word for ‘good’和字為『良好』 hǎo hǎo and if you put them together you get而如果你把它們放在一起,你得到 hǎo hǎo which means ‘hello!’ You’ll find that a lot in Chinese.這意味著'你好' ,你會發現很多中文。 When common words are put together they can represent very different meanings and that’s what we hope to teach you during our podcast lessons.當常用詞放在一起,他們可以代表非常不同的意義,這正是我們所希望教導您在我們的podcast教訓。 As well, we find that breaking down the meanings of individual words helps in learning so you understand how phrases are constructed in Chinese.同時,我們發現,打破了含義個人說了算,有助於學習,讓您了解如何句子興建中的中國人。

Now,現在, hǎo hǎo is a very useful word in Chinese because it is also used in the context of ‘ok.’ So many times in conversation you’ll hear people reply with是一個非常有用的字,中文,因為它也可以用來語境中的'好'太多次了,在交談中,你會經常聽到人們答复 hǎo hǎo meaning ‘ok.’意思'好吧。

Shall we continue, Kirin?我們應否繼續下去,麒麟?

Kirin:麒麟: Hǎo hǎo .

Adam: Great.亞當:偉大的。 As we teach new vocabulary, we’ll try and use them in context to get you in the habit or learning its usage.正如我們教新的詞彙,我們將試圖利用他們的背景讓你在習慣或學習其用法。 In future lessons, if you hear us use a word you’re not familiar with, you can check on our website in the在未來的教訓,如果你聽到我們用一個詞你不熟悉,你可以檢查我們的網站,在 Course outline課程大綱 section, where you can hunt down the word in the current lesson and find out which lesson it was first introduced in. Our goal is to make sure that every Chinese word we use here is taught and understood, so this way we hope you won’t be left behind.節,在那裡你可以追捕這個詞在目前的教訓,並找出其中的教訓,這是第一次引入英寸,我們的目標是要確保每一個中國字,我們在這裡使用的是教和理解,所以這樣,我們希望你們獲得' T是掉隊。 Ok?好吧?

Kirin:麒麟: Hǎo hǎo .

Adam:亞當: Hǎo hǎo . Now when someone says現在,當有人說: hǎo hǎo to you, what is the standard response?為了你,什麼是標準的反應如何?

Kirin:麒麟: hǎo hǎo .

Adam: So basically you just repeat it back to them as you would if they were saying ‘hello’ to you.亞當:所以基本上你只是重複它還給他們,因為你,如果他們說'你好'給你。 So let’s try that.讓我們一起嘗試。

Kirin:麒麟: hǎo hǎo .

Adam:亞當: hǎo hǎo . Just like that – excellent.就像-出色。 Let’s move on to “How are you?” How would you ask that?讓我們討論" ,你如何呢? " ,你會如何要求?

Kirin:麒麟: hǎo hǎo ma? 馬?

Adam: Now you’ll notice that that’s quite similar to saying ‘hello’ except we’ve added a亞當:現在,你會發現這是十分類似,說'你好' ,除非我們增加了 ma at the end.在去年底。

Kirin:麒麟: hǎo hǎo ma? 馬?

Adam: Now亞當:現在 ma actually doesn’t have a tone – it’s what we call a neutral tone.其實沒有一個口氣-這就是我們所謂的一個中性的語調。 It’s what we use to turn a statement into a question.這就是我們使用把一份聲明中成為一個問題。 So if the literal translation of所以,如果直譯的 hǎo hǎo means “you good,”意思是"你們好" hǎo hǎo ma is a question so it’s asking “Are you good?” And that’s what is used to ask “How are you?”.是一個問題,所以它的問: "你是好? " ,並說的是什麼用來問"怎麼是你? " 。

Kirin:麒麟: hǎo hǎo ma? 馬?

Adam: Now a culture note here - whereas in English we often ask someone “How are you?” or “How are you doing?” quite often and quite casually, in Chinese亞當:現在的文化在這裡-而在英語,我們常問別人"怎麼是你? "或"你怎麼做" ?往往有相當隨便,在中文 hǎo hǎo ma? 馬? is only used when you really want to know how someone is doing.僅用於當你真的想知道如何有人在做。 Usually it’s when you meet someone you haven’t seen in a long time.通常它的,當你與某人,你有沒有看到,在很長的時間。 Now getting back to my usage of現在回到我的用法 hǎo hǎo to mean ‘ok,’ I could also use意思是'好吧, '我也能使用 hǎo hǎo ma? 馬? to mean ‘ok?’ as in asking for your approval or agreement.意思是'好嗎' ,因為在要求你的批准或同意。 So Kirin if I ask you所以麒麟,如果我問你 hǎo hǎo ma? 馬? what would you say?你會怎樣說?

Kirin:麒麟: Hǎo hǎo .

Adam: Good, she agrees.亞當:好,她同意了。 Now let’s continue.現在讓我們繼續下去。 What is the standard response to什麼是標準的回應 hǎo hǎo ma? 馬?

Kirin:麒麟: hěn hěn hǎo hǎo .

Adam:亞當: Hǎo hǎo , so we have a couple of new words here that we can look at. ,所以我們有一對夫婦的新詞在這裡,我們可以看看。 The first one is第一個是 . That’s also a falling rising tone.這也是一種屬於上升語調。 means ‘I’ or ‘me.’意味著'我'或'我'

The next one is下一個 hěn hěn which is also a falling rising tone.這也是屬於上升的語調。 Hěn hěn means ‘very,’手段'非常'
although it has a less intense meaning than the ‘very’ in English so you tend to use it a lot more often in Chinese than you would use ‘very’ in English.雖然它有那麼激烈的意義比『非常』在英語,讓您傾向於使用了許多更經常地在中國比你會用'非常'英語。 The last word which we’ve seen before is硬道理,而我們已經看到面前的是 hǎo hǎo which means ‘good.’這意味著『良好。

So putting those three words together所以把那三個詞在一起 hěn hěn hǎo hǎo , we get… “I’m very good.” ,我們從中獲得了… … "我非常好" 。

Kirin:麒麟: hěn hěn hǎo hǎo .

Adam: So actually if you can get past the difference in tones between Chinese and English, the actual syntax and grammar is a lot simpler in Chinese than it is in English.亞當:所以其實如果你能得到過去的區別在聲調之間的中文和英文,但實際句法和語法變得簡單許多,在中國比在英語。 Once you figure out this basic syntax, it’sa lot easier to translate phrases to other contexts.一旦你計算出這個基本語法,這是很多容易翻譯句子其他場合。 For example we now know the word for ‘you’ which is…比如我們現在知道這個詞為'你' ,這是…

Kirin:麒麟: .

Adam: We also know ‘I’:亞當:我們也知道'我' :

Kirin:麒麟: .

Adam: How about the word for ‘he’ or ‘she’?亞當:如何對Word的'他'或'她'嗎?

Kirin:麒麟: .

Adam: Again…亞當:再次…

Kirin:麒麟: .

Adam: Now our listeners should recognize that as a high tone.亞當:現在,我們的聽眾應該認識到,作為一項高聲調。 The word for ‘he’ and ‘she’ is the same in Chinese so you have to distinguish between male and female from the context.字為'他'和'她'是一樣的中文,所以你要區分男性和女性從上下文中。 If I was pointing at a man when I said假如我是指向一名男子,當我說: , you’d know I mean ‘he’ while if I was pointing at a woman you’d know that I meant ‘she.’ So knowing what we’ve learned so far, I’ll ask our listeners to play along. ,你都知道我的意思是'他' ,而如果我是指著一女,你知道我的意思是'她' ,所以知道什麼,我們深入了解到,直至目前為止,我會要求我們的聽眾發揮沿。 How would you ask “How is he?”你怎麼來問"怎麼是他" ?

Kirin:麒麟: hǎo hǎo ma? 馬?

Adam: Great, and how would you say “He is great” or “He is very good”?亞當:偉大,你會如何說, "他是偉大的"或者"他是非常好的" ?

Kirin:麒麟: hěn hěn hǎo hǎo .

Adam:亞當: Hǎo hǎo . So let’s move along to the word for ‘thanks.’ How do you say ‘thanks’?所以讓我們沿著這一名詞為'謝謝' ,可你怎麼說'謝謝'嗎?

Kirin:麒麟: Xièxie xièxie .

Adam: So that’s the same word said twice, both falling tones meaning ‘thanks.’亞當:這樣的同一個詞說了兩次,都屬於聲調意義'感謝。

Kirin:麒麟: Xièxie xièxie .

Adam: Now depending on where you are, you may hear the second word pronounced with a neutral tone giving us亞當:現在取決於你身在何處,你都可以聽到第二個單詞的發音與一個中性的語調給我們 xièxie xièxie , rather than ,而不是 xièxiè xièxiè . Additionally, you can also say a more polite另外,你也可以說,一個更有禮貌 xièxie xièxie to mean “thank you” rather than just意思是"謝謝你" ,而不是只 xièxie xièxie meaning ‘thanks’.意思'謝謝' 。 Hope you got all that!希望你的一切!

Let’s end our show today by teaching how to say ‘goodbye.’ How do you say ‘goodbye,’ Kirin?讓我們結束我們的節目,今天由教學怎麼說'再見' ,可你怎麼說'再見'麒麟?

Kirin:麒麟: Zàijiàn zàijiàn .

Adam: Again?亞當:再次?

Kirin:麒麟: Zàijiàn zàijiàn .

Adam: Alright so I’ll ask our listeners if they can figure out the tones on those two words.亞當:好吧,所以我會要求我們的聽眾,如果他們能計算出聲調就這兩個詞。 They are both…falling tones.他們都是…降聲調。 The literal meaning for the two words is字面意思為兩個詞是 zài zài meaning ‘again’ and意思'再' jiàn jiàn meaning ‘meet,’ so “again meet,” kind of like “See you again.”意思'符合' " ,再次見面, "有點像"再見" 。

Kirin:麒麟: Zàijiàn zàijiàn .

Adam: Let’s wrap up with a review of all the vocabulary we’ve learned today.亞當:讓我們總結與檢討所有詞彙,我們學會了今天。 So we’ll start with ‘hello.’因此,我們也將開始與'你好'

Kirin:麒麟: hǎo hǎo .

Adam: How are you?亞當:你如何?

Kirin:麒麟: hǎo hǎo ma? 馬?

Adam: I’m great.亞當:我很偉大。

Kirin:麒麟: hěn hěn hǎo hǎo .

Adam: Thanks.亞當:感謝。

Kirin:麒麟: Xièxie xièxie .

Adam: Goodbye.亞當:再見。

Kirin:麒麟: Zàijiàn zàijiàn .

Adam: Great, so that wraps up today’s lesson.亞當:偉大的,因此結束了今天的教訓。 I hope you learned something there.我希望你們學到的東西。 We’ll be back again next time with another lesson, so see you then!我們明年會殺回來再下一次與另一個教訓,所以見,你再來!

Kirin:麒麟: Zàijiàn zàijiàn .
