Levels of Fluency مستويات اتقان
I’ve always had a problem answering the question “Can you speak Chinese?” What exactly does the speaker mean by that question? لقد قمت دائما لديه مشكلة الاجابه على السؤال "هل يمكن ان يتكلم الصينية؟" ما هي بالضبط المتكلم يعني هذا السؤال؟ Do you need to be fluent in the language to answer that question affirmatively? هل انت بحاجة الى طلاقة في اللغة للإجابة على ذلك السؤال بالإيجاب؟ And if so, what level do you need to reach to attain “fluency”? وإذا كان الأمر كذلك ، ما هو مستوى هل انت بحاجة الى بلوغ لبلوغ "اتقان"؟ To complicate things further, one’s listening / speaking skills might be a lot more developed than their reading / writing skills, so how do you factor that into the picture? لمزيد من تعقيد الامور ، والمرء في الاستماع / مهارات يمكن ان تحدث الكثير أكثر تطورا مما القراءة / الكتابة ، وذلك كيف ان عاملا في الصورة؟
You will find that as you learn a new language, there are certain levels of fluency that you come across. وستجدون أن تتعلم لغة جديدة ، وهناك مستويات معينة من طلاقة لك ان تأتي عبر. The hardest part is crossing from one level to another, as this is a jump that many don’t make. الجزء الاصعب هو العبور من مستوى الى آخر ، لأن ذلك هو ان العديد اذهب لا تجعل. The reasons for this vary from person to person, but in general we tend to get relaxed in our comfort zone. واسباب ذلك تختلف من شخص لآخر ، ولكن بصفة عامة فاننا نميل الى الحصول على الاسترخاء عزاؤنا في المنطقة. In the early stages, you learn enough to survive where you are. في المراحل المبكره ، كنت أعرف ما يكفي للبقاء على قيد الحياة حيث أنت. To get to the next level requires extra effort on your part which may affect your daily routine. للوصول الى المستوى التالي يتطلب مزيدا من الجهد من جانبكم والتي قد تؤثر في حسابك الى روتين يومي. Most would rather stay in their comfort zone than expend this extra effort. بل الاكثر من شأنه ان البقاء في منطقة الراحة من انفاق هذا الجهد الاضافي.
I have noticed this resistance by analyzing feedback and statistics for the users of my course as we cross from one level to another. لقد لاحظت هذه المقاومة من خلال تحليل واقتراحات والاحصاءات لمستخدميها من بلادي بطبيعة الحال ونحن نعبر من مستوى الى آخر. It would be a much more pleasant experience for basic listeners, for me to continue teaching the course in the format used in earlier lessons where a dialog is presented in Chinese, then explained completely in English. وسيكون اكثر تجربة سارة لالاساسية المستمعين ، بالنسبة لي على مواصلة اثناء التدريس في الشكل المستخدم في وقت سابق من الدروس حيث ان الحوار هو في الصينية ، ثم شرح بالكامل باللغه الانجليزيه. However, by adding Chinese to the explanations in later lessons, I am forcing the listener to consult the translations and word bank where necessary, which of course requires extra effort on their part. ومع ذلك ، اضافة الى شروح الصينية في وقت لاحق من الدروس ، وانا على اجبار المستمع الرجوع الى الترجمات وكلمة البنك عند الضروره ، وهو بطبيعة الحال يتطلب مزيدا من الجهد من جانبهم.
During my recent experience working with individuals of this course, I also found it interesting that different users used different standards to decide when to progress to later lessons. وخلال التجارب التي قمت بها مؤخرا العمل مع الافراد من هذه الدورة ، كما انني وجدت اهتمام مختلف المستعملين ان تستخدم معايير مختلفة ليقرر متى التقدم الى وقت لاحق من الدروس. Some students wouldn’t continue unless they understood 90% plus of the material and vocabulary used in a lesson. بعض الطلاب لن يستمر ما لم يفهم من 90 ٪ زائد من المواد والمفردات المستخدمة في الدرس. Others were more lenient and would continue on despite much less retention. كان آخرون اكثر تساهلا وستستمر على الرغم من احتفاظ اقل بكثير. Of course there is also the question of what exactly you are trying to learn. طبعا هناك ايضا مسألة ما هي بالضبط انت تحاول معرفة. For some, having proper pronunciation was most important. وبالنسبة للبعض ، وبعد ان النطق الصحيح هو الأكثر أهمية. Others were more interested in vocabulary or grammar usage. كان آخرون اكثر المهتمين في استعمال المفردات او القواعد. Some might have mastered these skills and were now going through earlier lessons to shore up their reading skills. قد يكون بعض هذه المهارات وتفننت الان الدروس التي يمر بها في وقت سابق الى الشاطئ حتى على مهارات القراءة.
I think it would be quite an accomplishment for a user to actually start the CLO course from the first lesson and be able to progress at their own pace all the way to the most recent lessons. واعتقد انه سيكون تماما انجازا للمستخدم فعلا الى بدء CLO بطبيعة الحال من الدرس الاول وتكون قادرة على التقدم في وتيرتها كل الطريق الى احدث الدروس. Hopefully the tools we have added and will continue to add along the way will help users accomplish the individual goals and targets they have set for themselves. ونأمل ان لدينا الأدوات واضاف ستواصل اضافة الى طول الطريق سيساعد مستخدمي الفرد انجاز الاهداف والغايات التي حددتها لنفسها.
