The Chinese course you wish you had from the start!
The CLO course consists of 420 audio lessons, split across 7 levels of difficulty. Download these lessons directly to your smart phone and listen to them at the gym, or on the way to work. I know you're busy. This way you can learn on the run. The lessons feature topics and conversations that match what you encounter in daily life. The emphasis is on teaching words and phrases that help you communicate.
The biggest difference you'll notice about CLO is that it's progressive. Unlike other courses with discrete lesson sets, the lessons in CLO build off each other. The Chinese you learn in this lesson will be used in the next lesson. Repetition is essential for retention. And I give you lots of that. This way you're forced to keep up. And you'll remember what was taught.
While the lessons in the first few levels are conducted mainly in English, lessons from later levels are conducted mainly in Chinese. But this is Chinese that was taught to you before. If the lessons get too difficult, stop and review older lessons before continuing.
This is a much more effective approach than traditional lessons, where you quickly forget what was learned.
"Amazingly, Chinese Learn Online has created an easy-to-use, step-by-step curriculum that is extremely effective and has helped me develop listening and speaking abilities within just a few months."
Set your own pace. Go as quickly or as slowly as you feel comfortable with.
Put in 30 minutes a day (3 hours a week) and you'll finish the course in about 2 years.
Commit to 3 hours a day though, and you'll be able to finish the whole course in under 6 months!
What improvements would you see in your life now if you could comfortably understand and speak Chinese with others around you?
"CLO is brilliant! Even after a few lessons I have a sense for the tones and for the sentence structure I did not have - only by using my book. I am totally convinced! Thanks!"

CLO is comprehensive. As Chinese is a tonal language, we English speakers need a LOT of listening practice to understand it. And I give you a lot of that. As you go through the lessons (especially higher levels), you will notice a big improvement in your listening comprehension.
In addition though you can also follow along with characters - both simplified or traditional. Want to learn to read? Try reading the transcripts in Chinese. Or use the flashcards and exercise tools to test your reading skills. How would your life improve if you could read Chinese?
Want to learn to type? Various exercises on the site test your typing skills. See if you can type out the content from each lesson. Get instant feedback on where you're going wrong. Learn how to send email and text messages with others in Chinese!
Want to improve your pronunciation? Recording tools on the site let you compare your pronunciation of key vocabulary with that of actual native speakers. Get ready to receive compliments on how native you sound!
In addition to the self study tools, you can leave comments on each lesson to get helpful answers to your questions. There are also exercises that require you to form your own personal answers, that will then be marked by an actual teacher. So you're never alone in your learning!
Want more? We can assign a teacher to provide you with one on one lessons via Skype. Vocabulary learned in these lessons will then be added to your own flashcard tool to practice between lessons.
