According to the cartoon, Kirin appears to be planning to go to a XXXX movie! No wonder her friend never turned up!!
But seriously, could you tell us what is written on the ticket window and also if we’ll ever find out WHY her friend stood her up?

Hello Gareth,
Don’t worry, the Chinese have a different way of referring to XXX movies - they tend to be called “yellow movies” instead (maybe we should do a lesson on that sometime…).
I’m happy to see that there is extra learning going on from the pictures.
The ticket window says shòupiàokǒu, which literally means “sell ticket opening” (as in where you would purchase your movie ticket from).
As far as why her friend stood her up… perhaps that can be answered in a future lesson, or maybe in an extended video for this lesson? Maybe in the future we can have a soap opera running theme going on with the dialogues. Lot of possibilities here!
