Why does she ask: 那里很脏吗？ From my understanding they are in his old apartment and she is asking if his old apartment is dirty. . . so since they are already in his old apartment shouldn’t it be: 这里很脏吗？

Yes this video is definitely one of my favorites too. We tried to do an interpretation of the dialogue, but some parts don’t quite work out. Like you mentioned, in the original conversation they are not actually at the old (or new) apartments, which is why she uses 那里. However in the video, they seem to be in the old apartment.
