  1. Daniel Tynan Says:

Hi, My wife who is Chinese, told me that you don’t use 饱 for indicating “enough” in relation to sleep. She says 饱 is ONLY used to indicate enough food… not for other things. She said you would write 睡好了 or 睡足 as in the question 你 睡足了吗?

  2. Adam Says:

    Hi Daniel,

Thanks for pointing this out. Apparently 饱 is used commonly in Taiwan - perhaps it’s a regional variation. Here are some words commonly heard out here:

气饱(生气的气) - angry enough (to do something)
    充饱(充电的充)- device has finished recharging
    喝饱(喝水的喝) - not thirsty anymore
    赚饱(赚钱的赚) - earned enough money

  3. Edward Sanderson Says:

    Hi, some corrections.

In Vocabulary, in the simplified characters for 她的头髮很长, 髮 should be 发.
For the stroke orders, the animation for 皮 is missing.
In the typing test (showing simplified characters) the sentences “我睡了,可是沒有睡飽” and “然後我试著称赞她” use some traditional characters; the sentence “她的头发很长” won’t accept the character “发” (neither simplified nor traditional versions); and, the audio for the sentence “那你跟她讲话了吗?” is missing.

    Edward

  4. Adam Says:

Thanks Edward, we’ve made some changes. Looks like there are some issues with that particular typing test that I’ll look into.

  5. Edward Sanderson Says:

I’ll second Daniel’s comment, my Chinese wife had no idea what 睡饱 meant and now thinks I’m wasting my time on this course.

  6. Adam Says:

    Hi Edward,

Thanks for the feedback. Please continue to let me know if there is vocabulary here that isn’t being used in your neck of the woods, as we usually try to stick to more general purpose vocabulary that can be used in most areas.

  7. CLO User Says:

Obviously it’s Taiwanese slang that Adam didn’t realize. You’re wives should use their brains to figure this one out.

  8. Adam Says:

Hi there. Which words are you referring to as Taiwanese slang?
