   What’s with the funny sounding 2? What's funny com a sonoridade 2? I only hear this from people who’s speak Mandarin as a second language. Eu só ouvi essa de pessoas que o falam como segunda língua mandarim.

   Hmmn… “èr” sounds pretty normal to me. Hmmn… "èr" soa bastante normal para mim. I’ve heard it pronounced as “àr” by some Chinese speakers - is that the sound you are more accustomed to hearing? Eu ouvi-lo pronunciado como "àr" por alguns oradores chinês - é que o som que você está mais acostumado a ouvir?

   It sounds like “ah” to me. Ela soa como "ah" para mim. This is what I hear from many of the southern Chinese who transplant up north. Isto é o que eu ouvi de muitos dos sul chinês, que até transplante norte. Then again, I’m so used to hearing Northern (Bei Jing) Mandarin, that everything else sounds foreign to me. Mais uma vez, estou tão habituados a ouvir a conversa do Norte (Bei Jing) mandarim, que tudo o resto parece-me estrangeira. Don’t get me wrong, I think her pronuciation is excellent, but if I were in a conversation with her, that 2 would have taken me aback. Não me interpretem mal, acho que ela pronuciation é excelente, mas se eu estivesse em uma conversa com ela, que 2 teria tomado me surpreendida. I would probably have to stop and ask her where she was from. Eu provavelmente teria de parar e perguntar-lhe de onde ela era.
