   What’s with the funny sounding 2? Was ist mit dem lustig klingenden 2? I only hear this from people who’s speak Mandarin as a second language. , Höre ich nur Leute, die aus diesem's sprechen Mandarin als zweite Sprache.

   Hmmn… “èr” sounds pretty normal to me. Hmmn… "èr" klingt ziemlich normal für mich. I’ve heard it pronounced as “àr” by some Chinese speakers - is that the sound you are more accustomed to hearing? Ich habe gehört, dass es ausgesprochen wie "àr" von einigen chinesischen Lautsprecher - ist, dass der Sound Sie sind daran gewöhnt zu hören?

   It sounds like “ah” to me. Es klingt wie "ah" zu mir. This is what I hear from many of the southern Chinese who transplant up north. Das ist es, was ich höre von vielen der südchinesischen Transplantation, die im Norden. Then again, I’m so used to hearing Northern (Bei Jing) Mandarin, that everything else sounds foreign to me. Dann wieder, ich bin so zur Anhörung Northern (Bei Jing) Mandarin, daß alles andere klingt mir fremd. Don’t get me wrong, I think her pronuciation is excellent, but if I were in a conversation with her, that 2 would have taken me aback. Verstehen Sie mich nicht falsch, ich denke, ihr pronuciation ist hervorragend, aber wenn ich in einem Gespräch mit ihr, dass 2 hätte mich erstaunt. I would probably have to stop and ask her where she was from. Ich hätte wahrscheinlich zu stoppen und sie fragen, wo sie war.
