   In China, when answering the telephone do both sides say “wei2″ like both sides would say hello in english? En Chine, au moment de répondre au téléphone à deux parties disent "wei2« comme deux parties se dire bonjour en Anglais? You call me. Vous m'appelez. I say “wei2″; you say “wei2″ back and then the coversation starts, or do I answer your call, say “wei2″ and then you start the conversation? Je dis "wei2", tu dis "wei2" dos et commence alors la coversation, ou dois-je répondre à votre appel, dites "wei2" et ensuite vous commencez à la conversation? Thanks. Merci.

   Good question. Bonne question. The usage is the same as “Hello” in English. L'utilisation est la même que "Bonjour" en anglais. The person calling may repeat the “wei2″ if he chooses to, or could get right to his point like in this dialogue. La personne qui appelle peuvent répéter le «wei2" s'il choisit de, ou pourraient avoir droit à son point de vue, comme dans ce dialogue. Or he may use a different form of greeting “Ni3 hao3″ just to be different. Ou il peut utiliser une autre forme de salutation "Ni3 hao3« juste pour être différent.
