Kirin pronounces something more like “dou”, isn’t she?

How about the O in the last line, marked as a first tone? I think Kirin says more like O4. The dictionary says that 哦 is O2. As an exclamation perhaps it is a bit flexible? Any thoughts about this?

Wow, nothing gets by you guys. I’m impressed! Officially the “O” character mentioned is the first tone. However based on how it’s being used (surprise, excitement, sadness) the tone may fall off after the initial high.

Hello again!
I have a question about the sentence :Quánbù dǎ wǔzhé, “Everything is halv off.”
In my dictionary, 折. zhé among other meanings, has the meaning tenth (in prices). Is it that simple? Does the sentence mean “On everyting cut five tenths.”? That also would explain the use of five to specify half the price..

Sorry, the meaning of course would be ” On everything leave five tenths.” Better think first and then write..

I just wonder about the sentence “Quánbù dǎ wǔzhé”. If that’s how you say “all is 50% off”(On everything leave five tenths), how do one then say “all is 5% off”?

Great question! You could say “Quánbù dǎ jiǔshíwǔ zhé” which sometimes gets reduced to “Quánbù dǎ jiǔwǔ zhé”
