The word zhème (这么) was initially incorrectly identified as zěnme (怎么). This has since been fixed in the lesson and in the notes. Thanks to Anthony for pointing this out to me.

Hi Koen,
I believe from lesson 50 on, we switched to just showing the new vocabulary in the free version. The paid lesson downloads however should show the entire transcript of the lesson on screen.

Hey
I love your lessons! I was searching for the best podcast series and I think I’ve found it
I have one grammar question about “dōu shì zhème lěng”. Why is there the verb shì? Isn’t 冷 already a verb in this sentence? And if there is shì, why isn’t it dōu shì zhème 冷的?

Hi there,
You can think of “dōu shì zhème lěng” as translating to “It is always this cold” so you have an “is” and a “cold” in there.
You are right that there are a few ways of saying this including:
dōu shì zhème lěng de.
dōu shì zhème lěng de tiānqì.
