  1. Lina Golan Says:

    Hi Adam
The translation in the “Vocabulary” of the sentence:
Wǒ juéde lánsè gēn báisè hěn hǎo kàn- isn’t correct

  2. Adam Says:

    Fixed, thanks!

  3. Claudia Says:

thanks for having my favourite color on this list

    xièxie ni

  4. Luís Romão Says:

I don’t quite understand the sentence “我的 爸爸 不 喜欢 蓝色 这个 颜色 因为 他 觉得 不 好看” from the Sentence Builder exercise. Wouldn’t it make more sense to put the “这个 颜色” after the “觉得” (”我的 爸爸 不 喜欢 蓝色 因为 他 觉得这个 颜色 不 好看”)?

  5. Luís Romão Says:

剩 (shèng), 些 (xiē) and 糕 (gāo) are present in the new characters list, but they weren’t introduced in this lesson…

  6. Luís Romão Says:

The simplified version of 顏 is 颜。 The two characters are different and not the same, as presented in the new character’s list.

  7. Adam Says:

    Hi Luís,

Regarding the sentence builder - your answer is equally correct. In Chinese however they also have a form of speaking that is different from English, where they put the object up front, and then describe it. For example in English, we might say “I don’t like the color blue.” However in Chinese we can also say “Blue, this color, I don’t like” or “I don’t like blue, this color.”

We’ve fixed the character errors you mentioned - PDFs will be updated soon. Thanks!

  8. Hann Wang Says:

    Hi Adam,

Can you please explain the grammar structure in the sentence builder?

“My father doesn’t like the color blue, because he thinks it doesn’t look good”

“wode bàba bù xihuan lánsè zhège yánsè yinwèi ta juéde bù hao kàn”

I originally structured the sentence like this:

“wode bàba bù xihuan zhège yánsè lánsè yinwèi ta juéde bù hao kàn”

But then it said that my answer was incorrect. I guess for me it doesn’t make sense to say “…xihuan lánsè zhège yánsè yinwèi…” (like blue this color because)

    Thanks!

    Hann

  9. Adam Says:

    Hi Hann,

Yes that is a common structure of Chinese. You mention an item, then add its classification, and then continue with its description. You will get used to the format as you see more examples throughout the course. Here are a couple more for you:

    1. Wo hen xihuan Zhongguo, zhege guojia, yinwei fengjing (scenery) dou hen piaoliang.
    2. Wo juede Taiwan, zhege difang, tai re.

  10. Christine Says:

    Hi,
I’ve been wondering this for awhile-why did the videos disappear? I liked being able to listen to the podcast and then listen to an animated dialog…:)

  11. Luise (admin) Says:

    Hi Christine,

We made animated videos for a few select lessons as an experiment. Glad you liked them!

We may create more in the future (it was becoming rather expensive to create them for all lessons).

  12. Christine Says:

    Ok,
Yes, I imagine that a lot of time and effort goes into them. Well thanks for the beginning ones…I’d love to see a few spaced out among the lessons but if not, it won’t keep me from listening to the podcasts!

  13. Luise (admin) Says:

    Thanks Christine!
