Hi, I have a question on asking if you are hungry. Ciao a tutti, ho una domanda sulla chiedendo se sono affamati. I was recently in Shanghia. Sono stato di recente in Shanghia. Whenever I said “Nǐ dùzi è ma” the Chinese person who was showing me around and was from Zhejiang seemed to be confused. Ogni volta che ho detto "Nǐ dùzi non è" la persona che è stata cinese mostrando intorno e mi è stato da Zhejiang sembrava confuso. She told me to just say “Nǐ è le ma?” Is this common? Lei mi ha detto di dire soltanto "Nǐ non è solo?" E 'questo comune? It makes more sense coming from English. È più logico provenienti dalla lingua inglese.

It’s possible that in some areas, some expressions are more commonly used than others. È possibile che in alcuni settori, in alcune espressioni più comunemente utilizzati sono di altri. As far as the meaning goes “Nǐ dùzi è ma?” has a slightly “more hungry” meaning to it (you might say it when someone’s stomach was growling!). Per quanto riguarda il significato va "Nǐ dùzi è qui?" Ha un po ' "più affamati" significato ad essa (si potrebbe dire che quando qualcuno è stato growling stomaco!).

there seems to be another way to say “yes” in chinese. Ci sembra essere un altro modo per dire "sì" in cinese. I was told a couple of times while chatting, that “shì de” means “yes”. Mi è stato detto un paio di volte, mentre in chat, che "shì de" vuol dire "sì".
But I have to second Lina. Ma devo secondo Lina. A great website and a great way to learn. Un grande sito web e un ottimo modo per imparare. I don’t know if I’m able to make a real conversation, but at least in MSN oder ICQ I can always impress chinese people… Non so se sono in grado di fare una vera conversazione, ma almeno in MSN o ICQ posso sempre impressionare popolo cinese…

Dui4 means “correct” but is often used in place of “yes” (since there’s no direct word for “yes” in Chinese). Dui4 significa "corretto", ma viene spesso usato al posto di "sì" (dal momento che non vi è alcuna diretta per la parola "sì" in cinese).
