I just want to ask what is the difference between yào and xiang ? Gostaria apenas de perguntar qual é a diferença entre yào e xiang?

Yào means ‘want’ while ‘xiǎng’ means to ‘think’ or ‘consider.’ They can be put together to form ‘xiǎng yào’ meaning ‘would like.’ These verbs are mentioned again in Lesson 22. Yào significa "querem", enquanto "xiǎng ', para' pensar 'ou' considerar '. Elas podem ser colocados juntos para formar' xiǎng yào 'significado' gostaria '. when I look this up it translated to want or consider .. Quando vejo este até é traduzido para desejam ou consideram ..
and in some other context when people use xiang for want. E em alguns outros contexto, quando as pessoas usam para xiang deseja. It’s kind of confusing to me. É espécie de confuso para mim.

You’re right. Tens razão. In fact xiǎng translates to any of the following: to think; to believe; to suppose; to wish; to want; to miss. Na verdade xiǎng traduz em qualquer das seguintes situações: a pensar, a acreditar; para supor; desejar; querer; para miss. There are different nuances between xiǎng and yào. Existem diferentes nuances entre xiǎng e yào. Yào tends to be more firm whereas xiǎng is more of wishful thinking. Yào tende a ser mais firme xiǎng é mais do que ilusões. So in your example, the speaker obviously knows he will grow up but is still expressing his wish that he wouldn’t. Assim, no seu exemplo, o orador obviamente sabe que ele vai crescer, mas ainda é expressar o seu desejo de que ele não iria. Xiǎng yào is usually used when the speaker wants something that first requires some thinking such as when you have to make a choice. I noticed certain words like “pian2 yi2″ are not listed as vocabulary for this lesson in the course outline. Eu observei algumas palavras como "pian2 yi2" não são listados como vocabulário para esta lição no decurso esboço. Does this mean that the words are just supplementary vocabulary, and we don’t need to learn it to continue, or are these just omissions? I like to use the Course Outline to have a quick reference of vocab I should know before going on to the next lesson, but I realize I’m missing some words.
